Air-gumming
Air-gumming hall: a blast booth built to size
An air-gumming hall is an enclosed space built to size for air-gumming, with dust extraction and recovery of the blasting medium. Phibo calculates and draws the hall, then supplies and connects the installations.
- Calculated and drawn to your dimensions
- Ventilation, transport and recovery connected
- In line with current safety and health requirements

What is an air-gumming hall?
An air-gumming hall is an enclosed space where low-pressure blasting is done with an air-gumming system, with ventilation that extracts the dust and a system that recovers the blasting medium. It is designed to the size of your parts and your building.
From first meeting to a working hall
Initial meeting
You tell us what you want to air-gum, how big the parts are and where the hall will be.
Calculation and drawing
Based on that meeting we calculate and draw the air-gumming hall.
You build the structure
With the drawing you build the structure of the hall yourself.
Connection of the installations
We connect the ventilation system, the transport system and the recovery system, so that your set-up meets current safety and health requirements and works at optimal efficiency.

Transport of the blasting medium
The transport system for the blasting medium in the hall.
Recovery of the blasting medium
The recovery system that makes the blasting medium reusable.
MCS² air-gumming system
The mobile blasting and stripping system for use in the hall or on site.

Frequently asked questions
Does Phibo build the hall itself?
Phibo works out complete air-gumming halls, but usually in collaboration: we calculate and draw the hall, you build the structure, and we supply and connect the installations.
Which installations belong to an air-gumming hall?
A ventilation system for extraction, a transport system and a recovery system for the blasting medium, and the air-gumming system itself, such as the MCS².
Can the MCS² also work outside an air-gumming hall?
Yes. The MCS² is mobile and fits in a small van, so you can also air-gum on site. How air-gumming differs from sandblasting is explained in Air-gumming versus sandblasting.
