Blast room
Blast room ventilation
The ventilation supplies fresh air and extracts the polluted air across the whole cross-section of the blast room, so dust does not linger anywhere. Phibo supplies it together with the dust extraction installation on anti-static filter cartridges.
- Horizontal or vertical air circulation
- Cartridge filters from 800 to 16,000 m³/hour
- Emitted air in line with dust emission standards
- Surface treatment specialist since 1988

The principle
Even across the whole cross-section
Depending on your production situation, the air circulation is horizontal or vertical.
No dead zones
Fresh air supply and extraction are evenly distributed over the cross-section of the blast room. Dust is removed everywhere and does not linger or settle.
No dust in your production area
Combined with the labyrinth design of the frontal access doors, this principle keeps the dust inside the blast room.
Code of good practice
The ventilation system complies with the regulations for working in confined spaces. The discharged air meets the dust emission standards.
Heating as an option
If desired, the blast room can be equipped with a heating element.
Dust extraction
The dust extraction installation
The dust extraction installation comes in seven versions, from small to large, built to the applicable standards.
The compact filter installations are equipped with anti-static filter cartridges. Compressed air injections clean them automatically and sequentially during blasting, controlled by an adjustable microprocessor. You set the time between injections. The dust is collected in a mobile dust container at the bottom of the filter, other solutions are possible on request.
Cartridge filter
- Anti-static filter cartridges from 800 to 16,000 m³/hour, larger capacities on request
- Centrifugal fans with direct drive, no belts
- Emitted air in line with dust emission standards
Options
- Silencer for a noise reduction of 5 dB(A)
- Pressure loss indicator
- Additional caisson for total filtration (absolute filter)
- Explosion-proof electrical components

Frequently asked questions
How is a blast room ventilated?
The supply of fresh air and the extraction of polluted air are evenly distributed over the entire cross-section of the blast room. Depending on your production situation, the air circulation runs horizontally or vertically, which gives even dust removal without dead zones.
Does dust escape into the surrounding workshop?
No. The ventilation principle, combined with the labyrinth design of the frontal access doors, means there is no loss of dust to your surrounding production space.
How are the filter cartridges cleaned?
The anti-static filter cartridges are cleaned automatically and sequentially by compressed air injections during blasting. An adjustable microprocessor controls the cleaning, and the time between injections can be set to your needs. The dust is collected in a mobile dust container at the bottom of the filter.
What airflow do the cartridge filters handle?
From 800 to 16,000 m³/hour, with larger capacities on request. They use centrifugal fans with direct drive, without belts, and the emitted air complies with dust emission standards.
Which options are available?
A silencer for a noise reduction of 5 dB(A), a pressure loss indicator, an additional caisson for total filtration (absolute filter) and explosion-proof electrical components. The blast room can also be fitted with a heating element.
