Frequently asked questions

What PPE is required for abrasive blasting?

Open blasting requires an air-fed blast helmet that protects head, face, eyes and ears, supplied with clean breathing air through a breathing air filter. A blasting suit, blasting gloves and safety footwear complete the set; in extreme temperatures a climate control unit is added.

Which standards apply to blasting PPE in Europe?

In the EU, personal protective equipment falls under Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and carries the CE marking. Compressed air for breathing must meet EN 12021, and air-fed blast helmets are generally tested to EN 14594.

Can I order a single item?
