Applications
Which parts the Mistral treats
Smaller and lighter stainless steel parts and machine components that fit on the turntable. Straight surfaces and welded joints get the same finish.
Up to 250 kg on the turntable
Parts that fit inside the cabinet and on the Ø 800 mm turntable. Heavy parts go on with an overhead crane.
Where hygiene is critical
In food processing, pharmaceuticals and semiconductor equipment. Dirt and product adhere less to the treated stainless steel.
Welds and heat tint
Around the weld, the stainless steel gets the same finish as the straight surface.
Larger parts
If your part does not fit in the cabinet, see the Tornado process platform.
How it works
Load, slide in, start
SublimotionProcess® cleans and conditions the stainless steel surface in one step. In the Mistral, that happens in a closed cabinet, with the operator outside.
Load outside the cabinet
Place the part on the tilting turntable. Heavy parts go on with an overhead crane, up to 250 kg.
Slide in and tilt
Slide the trolley into the cabinet and tilt the table to the angle you need.
Start with the knee
Through the gloves and the window, the operator aims the process gun. One press of the knee starts the treatment, wet and without dust.
Rinse and blow dry
Rinse with filtered water and blow dry with compressed air, inside the cabinet. The suspension goes back into the loop.

Frequently asked questions
Questions about the Mistral
How large can a part be in the Mistral?
It must fit inside the cabinet, ± 1230 x 1230 x 1050 mm, and on the Ø 800 mm turntable, up to 250 kg. For larger or heavier parts, there is the Tornado process platform.
Does the Mistral use acids?
No. SublimotionProcess® works without acids and without pickling paste. The suspension runs in a closed loop and is filtered for reuse.
Does the process create dust?
No. The process is wet, so no dust forms, inside or outside the cabinet.
Is the cabinet complicated to operate?
No. One press of the knee starts the treatment, without complicated machine settings. Phibo teaches your operators how to use the cabinet.
What do I need to provide?
Compressed air, water, a 400 V connection and a drain at floor level. The values are in the technical data above.
Mistral or Tornado?
Choose the Mistral for smaller, lighter parts that you treat from outside a closed cabinet. Choose the Tornado for small to large parts, with the operator on the platform next to the part.
How do I get the technical data sheet for the Mistral?
Request it with the form at the bottom of this page. Mention the parts you want to treat, and you receive the data sheet with your proposal.
