SublimotionProcess® for small to large stainless steel parts

Tornado stainless steel surface treatment platform

The Tornado is the standard stainless steel surface treatment platform for SublimotionProcess®, a hygienic treatment without acids. The platform goes into or onto the floor, and the operator works around the part.

  • Tornado T3020, ± 3150 x 2000 mm
  • Worktop carrying 500 kg/m²
  • One or two operators at a time
  • Built into the floor or installed on top

Applications

Which parts the Tornado treats

Stainless steel parts and machine components from small to large. The operator moves around the part and reaches every surface, welds included.

Large and bulky parts

Frames, machine bases and large welded structures stand on the grid, the operator works around them.

Where hygiene is critical

In food processing, pharmaceuticals and semiconductor equipment. Dirt and product adhere less to the treated stainless steel.

Welds and heat tint

Around the weld, the stainless steel gets the same finish as the straight surface.

Smaller parts in a cabinet

For smaller, lighter parts in a closed cabinet, see the Mistral manual process cabinet.

How it works

Step on, aim, start

SublimotionProcess® cleans and conditions the stainless steel surface in one step. On the Tornado, the operator stands on the platform with the part.

  1. The part on the grid

The part goes on the worktop. The grid carries 500 kg/m².

  2. Move around the part

The operator moves around the part, wearing a basic PPE set for wet conditions, and reaches every surface in a good working posture.

  3. Start with the button

Pressing the button on the process gun starts the treatment, without machine settings.

  4. Rinse and blow dry

Rinse with filtered water and blow dry with compressed air, on the same spot. The suspension goes back into the loop.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about the Tornado

How large can a part be on the Tornado?

The Tornado T3020 measures ± 3150 x 2000 mm and the worktop carries 500 kg/m². The operator stands next to the part and moves around it. For smaller, lighter parts in a closed cabinet, there is the Mistral manual process cabinet.

Built into the floor or on top of it?

Both are possible. Built in, the worktop sits flush with the workshop floor. Installed on top, the platform stands on the existing floor and you start sooner.

Can two operators work at the same time?

Yes. The compressed air supply is then sized for two operators, 5,200 l/min at 7 bar instead of 2,600 l/min.

Does the Tornado use acids?

No. SublimotionProcess® works without acids and without pickling paste. The suspension runs in a closed loop and is filtered for reuse.

Is the platform complicated to operate?

No. The button on the process gun starts the treatment, without complicated machine settings. Phibo teaches your operators how to use the platform.

Tornado or Mistral?

Choose the Tornado for small to large parts, with the operator on the platform next to the part. Choose the Mistral for smaller, lighter parts that you treat from outside a closed cabinet.

How do I get the technical data sheet for the Tornado?

Request it with the form at the bottom of this page. Mention the parts you want to treat, and you receive the data sheet with your proposal.
