What are plastic media?

Plastic media are synthetic grains that, as a soft blasting medium, remove paint and coatings without damaging the base material. They are mainly used for aluminium and composite parts in the aviation and automotive industries.

Plastic media is often used for applications in the aviation sector and the automotive industry.

Phibo supplies plastic media from its own warehouse, in 8 grain sizes. Packaging: 125 kg per drum.

Frequently asked questions

On which materials do you use plastic media?

On aluminium, composite and other delicate surfaces. Plastic media removes the paint or coating and leaves, for example, an anodised layer intact.

What hardness does plastic media have?

Plastic media comes in several hardnesses, roughly 3 to 4 Mohs. You choose the hardness based on the coating that has to come off and the material that has to be spared.
