Manual parts washer B900 with stainless steel work sink, wash brush on a hose and air gun

What is a manual parts washer?

A manual parts washer, also called a parts cleaner or a parts washing sink, is a work sink in which an operator cleans parts by hand in a cleaning fluid that a pump keeps circulating. In the industrial version that fluid is heated, it runs through the brush and the sink is made entirely of stainless steel.

Who uses it and what for

Almost every workshop has a parts washing sink somewhere. Usually a cold one, with a fluid that barely loosens grease. A heated manual parts washer does the same job faster and with less product, and it fits alongside an automatic machine for pre-cleaning or post-cleaning.

How it works

Filling and heating up

You fill the tank with water and a Phibo cleaner from our own stock. The Incoloy heating element brings the cleaning fluid up to temperature.

Cleaning with the brush

The pump sends the heated cleaning fluid through the brush. So you brush and rinse in a single movement, right into the smallest corners.

Blowing dry

The air gun blows the part dry, ready for assembly or measurement.

Reusing

The cleaning fluid flows back into the tank and is used again. A level sensor protects the pump and the heating from running dry.

Options and versions

As standard the machine is made from AISI 304. For aggressive cleaners or higher requirements, AISI 316 is available.

  • Version in AISI 316
  • Phibo cleaners and additives, from our own stock
  • Combination with an automatic machine for pre-cleaning or post-cleaning

What comes with the machine

  • You get the machine delivered, and we install and commission it if you wish
  • You get it CE marked, with a declaration of conformity and a manual
  • Your operators receive training at commissioning, and that is included in the price
  • We choose the right cleaning product for your contamination and your material together with you
  • Your cleaners, additives and process fluids come from the same supplier, so you have only one point of contact
  • An annual inspection keeps the installation safe, and you can cover it in a maintenance service contract
  • You arrange maintenance, repair and overhaul directly with Phibo

What is included in the machine price and what is charged separately is always itemized in your quotation.

Why buy from Phibo

You buy from a surface technology specialist

Phibo Industries has worked in surface technology and industrial cleaning since 1988, from cleaning and degreasing to blasting and surface treatment. That experience sits behind this range as well, and behind the advice you get with it.

We call you before you decide

Send us your application and we go through it with you on the phone: your parts, your contamination and your volumes per day. That way you know which model fits and which options make sense, with the connection values alongside. The full specifications are on this page, so you go into that conversation already prepared.

Your workshop is never down for long

You arrange maintenance, repairs and spare parts directly with Phibo. With a maintenance service contract your machine is inspected every year, safety included, so that you avoid downtime.

You only have one number to call

The machine, the cleaners and additives, the spare parts and the maintenance: everything comes from Phibo. One partner, from the first conversation to the last spare part.

From request to a running machine

Four steps. You decide how far you go before you commit.

Send us your specifications

You give us the dimensions and the weight of your parts, the material, the contamination and the number of parts per day. A photo of a dirty part often says enough on its own.

We call you

After your request we contact you by telephone and go through exactly what you clean. That way everything is right before a quotation is drawn up, and it saves a round of back-and-forth.

Machine proposal and price

You receive a proposal with the models that suit your parts, the options that make sense for your process and the connection values. For a standard machine the price is included straight away. Without obligation.

Delivery, installation and commissioning

We deliver, install and commission the machine, determine the right cleaning product together with you and train your operators. The machine is handed over to you with CE marking.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from an ordinary off-the-shelf parts washing sink?
The biggest difference is the heat. A heated cleaning fluid loosens grease where a cold fluid only slides over it. On top of that, the solution runs through the brush, so you brush and rinse in a single movement. And the sink itself lasts: fully stainless steel, with a level sensor that protects the pump and the heating element from running dry. A cold plastic tub with a small submersible pump does none of those three.
Which fluid do I use in this manual parts washer?
A water-based cleaner, not a solvent. Phibo supplies the cleaners and additives from its own stock, matched to your contamination and to the material of your parts. For aluminium, for example, the cleaner is not the same as for steel.
How much space does it take up?
The unit is designed to take up little space and fits alongside a workbench. Allow some free space in front of it so you can work comfortably. You receive the external dimensions of the version you choose with your quotation.
When am I better off moving to an automatic machine?
As soon as someone stands at the manual parts washer every day, or as soon as you clean the same parts in series. A cycle in a top loading parts washer runs by itself and takes no manpower. We work out what that saves you, based on your quantities. The manual parts washer stays useful alongside it, for one-off work and for touching up.
Can I clean large parts in it as well?
The load capacity is 50 kg and the work area 900 x 600 mm. Larger or heavier parts belong in a high-pressure parts washer cabinet or a spray parts washer.
Which cleaner or additive do I use in this machine?
We supply the cleaner with the machine, because it helps determine the result. Phibo has its own range of water-based cleaners and additives, from corrosion-inhibiting cleaners to defoamers. We choose the product and the dosage that suit your parts together with you, based on your contamination and the material of your parts.
What happens after I send a request?
We call you. Before we work out a quotation, we go through your parts, your contamination and your volumes together, so that the proposal is right straight away. So you get a real conversation with someone who knows the machines, and not an automatic e-mail with a brochure.
Is the machine CE compliant, and does it have to be inspected every year?
You receive the machine with CE marking, with a declaration of conformity and a manual. An annual inspection keeps the installation safe and reliable. You can arrange that with us in a maintenance service contract, together with the periodic maintenance.
What happens after delivery?
Phibo remains your point of contact. After commissioning and the training of your operators you can cover what follows in a maintenance service contract, so that your installation is inspected periodically and keeps running as it did on day one. We match what goes into your contract to your machine and to how intensively you use it. We put that on paper together with the quotation.
How does it work for service and spare parts?
You arrange maintenance, repairs and overhauls directly with Phibo, and the spare parts as well. For parts that are not in stock, you receive a lead time straight away.
What warranty do I get, and what is the delivery time?
You get one year of warranty, on every machine. The delivery time depends on the installation you choose and is therefore always stated in your quotation.
Is the training of our operators included in the price?
Yes. On delivery and commissioning we train your operators, and that is included in the price. That way everyone who works with the machine knows how to operate and maintain it.

The right cleaner is part of it

A parts washer only pays off fully with the right product in the tank. Phibo supplies the cleaners and additives itself and chooses with you the product that suits your contamination and the material of your parts.

We stay involved after commissioning

We offer maintenance service contracts that keep your installation supported: periodic inspection, timely replacement of wear parts and a fixed point of contact at Phibo. That keeps the machine running as it did on day one.
