Climate units and flow regulator for the breathing air of the blast helmet

What is blast helmet climate control?

A blast helmet climate control unit sits between the breathing air filter and the helmet and cools or heats the supplied breathing air relative to the ambient temperature.

Why control the breathing air

Compressed air from the compressor follows the ambient temperature. In a hot blasting hall or on a cold site, that air goes straight into the helmet. The climate unit brings it back to a temperature the operator can keep working in.

The compressed air from the breathing air filter connects to the climate unit with a safety quick coupling. The control knob sets the cooled or heated air flow.

Frequently asked questions

How many degrees can a climate control unit change the breathing air?

The cooling unit cools the air flow to 19 °C below the ambient temperature. The combined unit cools it to 15 °C below or warms it up to 30 °C above the ambient temperature.

How is the climate control unit connected?

The compressed air from the breathing air filter is connected to the climate control unit, which feeds the blast helmet. The control button sets the cooled or heated air flow.

Why control the temperature of blast helmet air?

The temperature of the breathing air follows the ambient temperature and the location of the compressor. In extreme heat or cold, a climate control unit keeps the air in the helmet bearable during long blasting work.
