Frequently asked questions

Which blasting suit do I need for grit or corundum blasting?

For a very aggressive abrasive environment such as grit or corundum blasting, use the dry blasting suit in extremely durable, flame retardant fabric with extra knee reinforcement. For air-gumming or glass bead blasting, the suit for an average abrasive environment is sufficient.

What is the difference between a dry blasting suit and wet blasting equipment?

A dry blasting suit is a coverall with narrowed sleeves and legs that keep abrasive particles out. Wet blasting equipment consists of water repellent blasting trousers and a blasting jacket with hood and armpit ventilation.

Which standard applies to protective clothing for abrasive blasting?

EN ISO 14877 sets the requirements for protective clothing used in abrasive blasting with granular abrasives. In the EU, personal protective equipment falls under Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and carries the CE marking.
