Wet blasting
The wet blasting process
Wet blasting projects a homogeneous mixture of water and abrasive, sprayed by compressed air, onto the part in a controlled way. Your parts are degreased and cleaned in a single treatment, without dust.
- Water and abrasive, sprayed by compressed air
- From aggressive treatment to precision parts
- Works in a closed circuit
- Surface technology specialist since 1988

Benefits
What wet blasting does differently
The correct adjustment of the process parameters results in a highly reproducible and accurate treatment. Both aggressive treatments and applications for precision and dimensionally sensitive parts are possible, and sharp corners and fine profiles are retained. Phibo also supplies dry blasting installations and industrial parts washers, and chooses with you the technique that suits your parts.
- The water buffer prevents the impact and incrustation of microbeads in the surface
- Degreasers, inhibitors, disinfectants, additives or hot water accelerate the effect
- Environmentally friendly, dust-free and non-toxic, without aggressive chemicals or solvents
- No static electricity and no danger of explosion
- Economic and ecological: a closed circuit and minimal wear of the machine parts
- Easy to use and to maintain

Frequently asked questions
How does the wet blasting process work?
A homogeneous mixture of water and abrasive is projected onto the part in a controlled way and sprayed by means of compressed air. Correct adjustment of the process parameters gives a highly reproducible and accurate treatment.
Is wet blasting suitable for precision parts?
Yes. Both aggressive treatments and applications for precision and dimensionally sensitive parts are possible, so sharp corners and fine profiles are retained. The water buffer prevents the impact and incrustation of microbeads in the surface.
Can the effect of wet blasting be accelerated?
Yes, by adding degreasers, inhibitors, disinfectants, additives and/or hot water.
Is wet blasting safe and environmentally friendly?
It is dust-free and non-toxic and uses no aggressive chemicals or solvents. There is no static electricity and no danger of explosion, and the installation works in a closed circuit with minimal wear of the machine parts.
