When do I choose solvent and when water?
Water is the standard: cheaper to buy, cheaper to run and easier in terms of regulations, and more than sufficient for most contamination. You choose solvent for heavy oils, waxes, resins and inks, or when the part has to be absolutely dry and spot-free and must not oxidize. We assess your application and always check first whether water is enough. If water will do, we save you a more expensive system and a pile of paperwork.
What about vapors, ATEX and the environmental permit?
These machines are built as a closed system. What is required of you on top of that depends entirely on the solvent chosen: that determines whether ATEX zoning is needed, which extraction is required, which category of your environmental permit applies and how storage has to be arranged. We go through those points with you when we make the machine proposal, on the basis of the safety data sheet of the product chosen. If your application can be done with water, we recommend that: cheaper to buy, cheaper to run and less paperwork.
Can one machine spray, immerse and ultrasonically clean?
Yes. That is exactly what the universal compact washing system is built for. Spray washing, immersion with agitation, ultrasonic cleaning and rinsing take place in the same chamber, optionally followed by drying with hot air and vacuum. The operator sets the process sequence on the touchscreen. That system is available both in an aqueous and in a solvent-based version.
Which cleaner or additive do I use in this machine?
That depends on the version. A solvent machine works with a solvent that is distilled and reused in a closed circuit; we work out with you which solvent suits your contamination. If you choose the universal compact washing system in the aqueous version, Phibo supplies the cleaner itself, from its own water-based range. We choose the product and the dosage that suit your parts together with you, based on your contamination and the material of your parts.
What is an anilox roll washing machine?
A machine built specifically for anilox rolls and printing cylinders from flexographic printing. Those have to be free of dried ink right into the engraving, without damaging the cells. How many rolls you can clean per day and which cell depth is retained are things we determine together, based on your anilox roll, your ink and your volumes per day.
Is this also suitable for series production?
Yes. The system is designed for the cleanliness requirements of mass production, with automatic loading and PLC control. The process sequence is set per product and is then executed identically every time.
What happens after I send a request?
We call you. Before we work out a quotation, we go through your parts, your contamination and your volumes together, so that the proposal is right straight away. So you get a real conversation with someone who knows the machines, and not an automatic e-mail with a brochure.
Is the machine CE compliant, and does it have to be inspected every year?
You receive the machine with CE marking, with a declaration of conformity and a manual. An annual inspection keeps the installation safe and reliable. You can arrange that with us in a maintenance service contract, together with the periodic maintenance.
What happens after delivery?
Phibo remains your point of contact. After commissioning and the training of your operators you can cover what follows in a maintenance service contract, so that your installation is inspected periodically and keeps running as it did on day one. We match what goes into your contract to your machine and to how intensively you use it. We put that on paper together with the quotation.
How does it work for service and spare parts?
You arrange maintenance, repairs and overhauls directly with Phibo, and the spare parts as well. For parts that are not in stock, you receive a lead time straight away.
What warranty do I get, and what is the delivery time?
You get one year of warranty, on every machine. The delivery time depends on the installation you choose and is therefore always stated in your quotation.
Is the training of our operators included in the price?
Yes. On delivery and commissioning we train your operators, and that is included in the price. That way everyone who works with the machine knows how to operate and maintain it.
