Mobile blasting systems

MVS² mobile vacuum blast machine

The MVS² is a mobile vacuum blast machine for detail work: a 10 litre hopper, three brushes, and a gun that projects the abrasive and extracts it in the same movement. For larger surfaces and continuous work there are the closed circuit machines from 9 to 48 litres.

The MVS² with blasting gun, recovery unit, compressor and aftercooler
  • Hopper of 10 litres, abrasive circulating in a closed circuit
  • Three brushes: flat, internal corner and external corner
  • Blasting and extraction hose of 5 metres
  • No masking beforehand, no clean-up afterwards

The technique

Projecting and extracting in one movement

A brush around the nozzle seals against the surface. The gun extracts more air than leaves the nozzle, so everything you blast off travels inwards. The abrasive passes through a separator and returns to the hopper cleaned.

No masking beforehand

You do not have to cover the surroundings. That shortens the preparation, and colleagues keep working next to you.

The abrasive stays inside the machine

You sweep nothing up and you dispose of no contaminated abrasive. The difference with the heavier closed circuit machines is size: the MVS² is meant for local work, with a 5 metre hose.

Usable indoors as well

The installation passes through an ordinary doorway and works in an occupied room or one that stays in service.

The set

Everything you need, as one whole

The package is put together for the work itself, hoses and couplings included. There is nothing to source on the side.

  • 1

    Blasting and stripping unit

Mobile, with an integrated recovery system, a 10 litre hopper and a filter pressure regulator.

  • 2

    Brush gun and brushes

Trigger control, a boron carbide nozzle, and three brushes for a flat surface, an internal corner and an external corner.

  • 3

    Screw compressor and aftercooler

Up to 1,300 l/min, 15.5 kW and 76 dB(A), with an external aftercooler for condensate free compressed air.

  • 4

    Hoses and protection

Blasting and extraction hose of 5 m, air hose of 10 m with safety couplings, plus visual and hearing protection.

Applications

Where the MVS² is used

The MVS² is a micro blasting system. It is at its best where the area is small, or where the surroundings must stay clean.

Operator removing graffiti from a brick facade
Remove graffiti from brick, concrete and natural stone, in the middle of a built-up area.
Letters blasted into a glass panel
Frost glass and blast lettering or motifs into glass, natural stone and wood.
Copper disc, the left half blasted and the right half still tarnished
Take weld discolouration off stainless steel, and derust or roughen metal before the next step.

Specifications

Every pressure, length and grain size of the MVS²

The complete installation was reviewed for safety and found EC compliant. On delivery you receive the declaration of conformity for the assembled system.

  • Extraction is pneumatic, so no separate vacuum cleaner is needed
  • The abrasive is separated from dust and dirt on the way back
  • A test on a hidden spot fixes the parameters
  • The compressor has a return line for the condensate

Consumables

Which abrasive circulates in the MVS²

Fine grains for small areas and detail work

Because the abrasive circulates in a closed circuit, how long the grain lasts matters. Ceramic beads are the hardest and the heaviest of the three. The fine grain sizes are meant for soft substrates, the coarser ones for rust, paint and hard surfaces.

Service

Maintenance, spare parts and training

The brushes, the nozzle and the hoses wear under intensive use. The brush seals against the surface, so that is the part you replace most often.

Maintenance contract

You have your installation checked by our own technicians, with no intermediary. You set out the visits in the contract.

Repair and spare parts

Maintenance, repair and spare parts you arrange directly with Phibo. Nozzles, brushes, hoses and filter cartridges are in our own stock.

Training for your operators

We show your people how to match the pressure, the abrasive and the brush to the job in front of them.

We call you and go through your application

Tell us what you are treating and where it stands. A proposal with the right set and the right abrasive follows after that.

Request

Request your quote or a price indication

Fill in the form below and add these three things. The less we have to ask, the sooner the proposal is with you.

  • What you are blasting, and how large the surface is
  • The contamination by name: rust, coating, mill scale, deposit
  • Where the work stands: on site, inside a building or in your workshop
